DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN: D.O. Campo de Borja. Spain.

GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Grenache

VINE: Own 3,700 Hectares.

CLIMATE: The Climate has an Atlantic influence, with cold winters, warm summers influenced by the Mediterranean sea. Lack of rain. The strong temperature variation between day and night causes slow ripening, which is very suitable for producing polyphenols, developing aromas, and giving the wines their characteristic quality.

SOIL: The vineyard is located around the village Fuendejalón (Zaragoza). The red stony soil provides the best environment for the Winery´s principal grape variety: Grenache. This soil combined with a robust vineyards, some more than 100 years old, and the climate gives to these grapes their distinctive quality and personality.

WINEMAKING: Traditional method. After alcoholic fermentation in stainsteel tanks under controlled temperature, the maolactic fermentation takes place in oak barrels. Then the wine is aged in American oak barrels 6 months before bottleling.

AGEING: 6 months in American oak barrels.

HARVEST: Hand-harvested in 17 kg. cases in the third week of October.

2014 VINTAGE: The Control Board of the Campo de Borja Designation of Origin gave the 2014 Campo de Borja vintage the official rating of “GOOD”. Besides the summer drought, the late September rain had a very positive impact on ripening with great balance between alcohol content and polyphenols. However the production was lower tan the previous year but higher in concentration.

TASTING NOTES: High, fine amd complex aromatic intensity. Ripe red fruits (strawberry, raspberry), spices and toasted notes. In palate it shows great balance, concentration and good acidity, with a long and persistent aftertaste.
